Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah launches ‘Meet Me at the Clock’ Photo Exhibition
Renowned Photographer A.K celebrates the property’s iconic heritage
DUBAI - Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah will launch an inspired photo exhibition, 'Meet me at the Clock' by renowned locally-based photographer A.K. this month. Featuring an array of images that celebrate the property's iconic heritage, the imaginative and creative photos will be unveiled on October 26th in the property's legendary Peacock Alley.
The Waldorf Astoria, which opened in New York in 1931, has long been known for the distinctive clock, which is located in the centre of the lobby. The clock is a unique timepiece that served as a beacon- before the dawn of modern technology through to today's contemporary lifestyle as a place where guests and socialites would gather. It was this that formed the inspiration for A.K's exhibition, centred on the history of Waldorf Astoria and the team members at the property located at the Dubai Palm Jumeirah. Guests can find a sculptural clock prominently situated at the center of many Waldorf Astoria lobbies around the world.
Showcasing all the elements that make the Waldorf Astoria brand truly unforgettable, the photos feature the Dubai property's own team members, capturing everyday moments around the hotel and really bringing the hotel's brand pillar to life 'True Waldorf Service'.
"It was a truly unique experience to work with A.K and our valued team members to capture the essence and personality of the hotel, the images reinforce the culture and rich history making it relevant to today," said David Wilson, General Manager of the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah. "The Waldorf Astoria has historically been associated with moments in time, and here, we have displayed our present stature whilst paying homage to our history."
His early days working as a photo reporter have given A.K. the innate ability to bring the best out in his subjects, with his ability to transform the mood of a photograph clearly seen in his Waldorf Astoria exhibition. His work has been included in publications such atock30s Le Figaro, Geo, L'equipe, Le Parisien, Midi Olympique, Telerama, Sud Ouest, Ouest France, Le Moniteur, LSA, Mother Jones Mag, Gulf News, Xpress and many more.
