Waldorf Astoria and Conrad Hotels & Resorts Unveil Gourmet Experiences for Guests
As part of Hilton’s new innovative web platform that offers a range of new and exclusive experiences across its luxury brands, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts and Conrad Hotel & Resorts is pleased to announce a range of gourmet experiences for guests. From clam picking in the Algarve and exploring artisanal bakeries in Jerusalem, to private whiskey tastings in Dublin and bespoke Michelin starred menus in Versailles, guests can choose from an array of experiences guaranteed to satisfy any palate.
At Conrad Algarve, guests can embark on a clam picking excursion where they will be driven out to the Ria Formosa National Park and welcomed by local fishermen who will take them in a traditional ‘Saveiro’ Portuguese fishing boat to the razor clam beach.
Guests will be briefed on how to hunt for the shellfish and will be given all the necessary attire and equipment, including wellington boots, a basket with salt, and a shovel to dig through the sand. Once the buckets are filled with delicious razor clams, the experience will end on the oyster banks with an oyster and champagne tasting.
Alternatively, Conrad Algarve offers a wine making class where guests are driven to the Quinta dos Vales Wine State, an award-winning winery located just 45 minutes from the hotel. A local winemaker will take guests on a tour teaching them about the grape varieties, the terroir and every step of the wine production from growth to harvest, and extraction. Guests will then have the chance to create their own personal blend by combining three different wine varieties of their choice, which will be decanted into a bottle sealed with wax to take home.
Meanwhile, Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem offers an evening city tour through the Mahane Yehuda Market where guests will gain an insight into local culture and learn the traders’ ancient secrets of breadmaking passed down from generation to generation, whilst also tasting a multitude of dough-based specialties.
For a spoiling treat, guests at Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace Versailles can book to sit at the ‘Chef’s Table’ in Gordon Ramsay au Trianon restaurant. Here a bespoke, Michelin starred seven-course menu will be created exclusively for them according to their likes and dislikes, right before their eyes.
For whiskey aficionados, Conrad Dublin is offering a private tour to the award-winning Teeling Whiskey Distillery where participants will witness first-hand the whole craft of whiskey production including milling, mashing, fermenting and distilling. The insightful tour is completed with a private tasting of Teeling whiskeys and finally a drink at the distillery's Bang Bang Bar.
