South Florida’s iconic resort hosts exclusive singer-songwriter events with Broadcast Music, Inc. featuring CMA winner Rodney Atkins and CMA-nominated RaeLynn
BOCA RATON, Fla. - Boca Raton Resort & Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, announces its first annual singer-songwriter weekend-long event, The New Sounds of Nashville, in partnership with Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI). This exclusive, intimate experience highlights Nashville songwriters, many of which have been inducted to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and have collectively won more than five Grammys and charted countless radio hits. Guests will partake in a bespoke and interactive journey of the songwriting experience from the initial stage of writing lyrics to creating smash radio hits in a backyard-style setting. From interactive VIP experiences to a star-studded finale concert, guests will enjoy a Labor Day Weekend to remember surrounded by some of the best artists and songwriters that are redefining Music City. Curated by BMI, this year’s singer-songwriter series will mark the first time that The New Sounds of Nashville will take place in a private resort setting, exclusively for club members and guests.
“We are thrilled to play host to The New Sounds of Nashville for the first time,” said John Tolbert, President and Managing Director of Boca Raton Resort & Club. “BMI is a global leader in the music industry, representing more than 800,000 top artists and songwriters around the world. Now, our partnership with BMI enables us to bring Nashville’s unrivalled talent to Boca Raton and create unforgettable musical experiences for our guests.”
The weekend kicks off on Friday, August 31, with the Bourbon Social event as part of the Resort’s elite dinner pairing series, Corks & Conversations, featuring appearances by legendary Nashville songwriters, Lee Thomas Miller, Wendell Mobley and newcomer Trea Landon. Members and guests will sample award-winning bourbon while listening to renditions of the musicians’ hit songs. The evening continues with the How I Wrote That Song event, celebrating chart-topping singer-songwriters as they perform and share stories behind their biggest hits. How I Wrote That Song will feature Nashville veterans Liz Rose, Bob DiPiero, William Michael Morgan, Phil Barton, Aaron Ratiere and Tim Nichols.
The performances continue into Saturday with the Songs at Sea event, an end-of-summer sunset cruise at the Resort Marina where members and guests will experience an intimate performance from some of Music City’s premiere songwriters, including Emily Weisband and Parker McCollum. Following the cruise, members and guests can kick back with a cold brew at the Smokes, Brews & BBQ to soak up the last taste of summer with Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame members, Bob DiPiero, Corey Crowder and Randy Montana. Attendees will enjoy barbecue, hand-rolled cigars and local beer tasting flights.
To top off the weekend-long festivities, Boca Raton Resort & Club is throwing an End of Summer Celebration & LobsterBash with an extravagant all-you-can-eat lobster party and concert celebrating the close of summer with country music stars, Rodney Atkins, known for hits such as "It's America," "Farmer's Daughter" and “Take a Back Road,” and RaeLynn, from season two of “The Voice,” known for hits such as “Boyfriend” and “Love Triangle.”
The intimate weekend experience caters to all music lovers for a behind-the-scenes look into writing a top charts song. Labor Day Weekend will be rounded out with pop-ins of Nashville-based boutiques, such as handcrafted leather goods by Peter Nappi and Tribe Kelley, a clothing brand founded by Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley and wife Britney, as well as golf, tennis, health and wellness and food pop-ins at Boca Beach Club and Boca Resort.
