Martin Rinck is Executive Vice President and Global Head of Luxury and Lifestyle brands for Hilton. He oversees a portfolio of 132 hotels, trading and under development.
Charged with leading the world’s fastest growing luxury hotel portfolio, Rinck’s brands include; Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts (27 trading / 18 pipeline); Conrad Hotels and Resorts (34 trading/17 pipeline); and Canopy by Hilton (2 trading / 30 pipeline).
In his role, Rinck leads the company’s strategy to be a leader in luxury, creating exemplary guest experiences for the luxury traveler, growing the portfolio while bolstering market share and owner returns.
Most recently Rinck led Hilton’s business in Asia Pacific as Area President, overseeing growth from 90 hotels trading and under development in 2008 to more than 600 upon his departure nearly 10 years later. During his tenure, in addition to expanding the company’s wider brand portfolio, Rinck successfully launched Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, while growing Conrad Hotels & Resorts, whereby today more than half of the global pipeline of Hilton’s luxury brands reside in Asia Pacific. Over and above this, both luxury brands are performing at a market share premium compared to their respective competitor set.
Rinck joined Hilton in November 2008 from Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, where he was formerly President and Managing Director – Asia Pacific. Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer EMEA for Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, where he drove significant unit growth for the company’s portfolio and was instrumental in the public listing of the company at the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
His extensive industry experience also includes working as CEO for Mövenpick Gastronomy International in Switzerland, as well as for InterContinental Hotels Group in Europe and the United States, and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in Indonesia.
Born in Hamburg, Martin holds an MBA from Brunel University and is married with two daughters. Martin has a passion for travel, loves good food and wine and is an active long distance runner, skier and mountain biker.
