Mike McLeod Appointed General Manager Of Hilton Vancouver Washington
30-Year Industry Veteran to Oversee Convention Center Hotel
VANCOUVER, Wa. - Hilton Worldwide (NYSE: HLT) today announced the appointment of Mike McLeod to the position of general manager of Hilton Vancouver Washington.
In his new role, McLeod will oversee the day-to-day operations of the modern, 226-room hotel and Vancouver Convention Center which is municipally owned by the Downtown Redevelopment Authority (DRA), a public authority created by the City of Vancouver and managed by Hilton Worldwide. Located downtown, across from Esther Short Park within easy reach of downtown Portland and Portland International Airport, the hotel features a 30,000 square-foot convention center. Other amenities include two dining options of Gray's at the Park Bar & Grill and Esther's Espresso Bar, an indoor pool and whirlpool tub, a fitness center and business center. McLeod will report to Area General Manager Frank J. Welton.

McLeod served as the general manager of DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Spokane City Center since October of 2007, overseeing the 375-room hotel with 175 team members. Prior to coming to Spokane, he was director of sales and marketing for Hilton Portland & Executive Tower, a 782-room hotel in the heart of downtown Portland, Oregon.
A 30-year hospitality veteran, McLeod is a winner of Hilton Worldwide's prestigious "Genius of the 'And'" award and recent Circle of Leadership graduate. He began his career with Red Lion Hotels and remained with the company through acquisitions by DoubleTree by Hilton and Hilton Worldwide working at several hotels in the Portland/Vancouver area. Early in his career, McLeod served as a bus person at a fine dining restaurant, restaurant manager, beverage manager, catering manager and sales manager prior to becoming the director of sales and marketing at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Portland and later DoubleTree Jantzen Beach / Columbia River before it became the Thunderbird Hotel.
McLeod served as a Commissioner on the Tourism Promotion Area (TPA) in Spokane, WA, is a member of the LTAC Lodging Tax Committee, sits on the Boards for the Washington Lodging Association and the Spokane Hotel Motel Association and is the past Chair for Visit Spokane.
He will be relocating back to Vancouver with his wife, Julie and their two teenage boys, Will and Michael.
