SINGAPORE - il Cielo’s resident Chef Yohhei Sasaki is ready to welcome the blooming spring season with a curated seasonal tasting menu of beautifully defined flavours highlighting the season’s best produce flown in from Italy and Japan. Available from March 2 to May 30, 2020, diners can look forward to the Blooming Spring Tasting Menu, starting from a four-course menu priced at $138.
Set on rooftop level 24 of Hilton Singapore, the Michelin Plate restaurant continues to bring new surprises to palates as resident Chef Sasaki invites diners on yet another sensorial journey with premium in-season ingredients such as Yamagata Sakura salmon, Italian baby octopus, Guanciale (cured pork jowl), spring Italian black truffles, Miyazaki pork and Sakura-flavoured gelato, just to name a few.
Highlights of il Cielo seasonal spring menu creations:
- Confit Salmon al Giapponese ‘Sakura Masu’: Yamagata Sakura salmon with marinated Japanese spring mountain vegetables and bottarga mayonnaise;
- Moscardini alla Ligure: Ligurian-style Italian baby octopus paired with tangy tomato sauce, basil breadcrumbs and sprinkled with black olive powder;
- Chitarra al Ragu di Takenoko: Homemade chitarra (guitar)-style spaghetti with umami sakura ebi, earthy Japanese bamboo shoot ragout, topped with fresh Italian Baeri caviar;
- Duo di Maiale: Braised-grilled premium Miyazaki wine pork with truffle sabayon, spring onion espuma, aromatic black garlic crumbles, crunchy green and white asparagus;
- Sakura: A mesmerizing dessert plated like a sakura tree with Valrhona dark chocolate terrine wrapped in edible sakura leaf balanced with a light sakura-flavored gelato, crunchy Japanese yurine (lily bulbs) and tapioca pearls.
Experience the taste of the blooming spring season at il Cielo, representing a scenic modern space for an urban cityscape. il Cielo, also translated as “The Sky” restaurant can hold a capacity of up to 48 persons, with 32 indoor seats, including a private dining room for 10 guests and 16 semi-al fresco seats by the pool. With a panoramic view of Orchard Road skylines, the interiors and surroundings of the poolside provide an urban romantic resort feel. At sundown, diners can experience a different alluring ambience as the versatile glass panels slide open for a semi-alfresco setting with the lighted pool area and modern cityscape of Orchard Road setting the stage for a captivating backdrop.
