HONOLULU - Get your grill on at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort's Honolulu BBQ Festival Weekend, featuring the "winningest man in barbecue," Pitmaster Myron Mixon on June 17 and 18, 2016. Myron has won more barbecue competitions than anyone else in the world and is the host of "Smoked," executive producer and co-host of "BBQ Rules," and star of two other hit television shows "BBQ Pitmasters" and "BBQ Pitwars" on Discovery's Destination America. This one of a kind event is just in time for Father's Day weekend, and combined with great hotel room rates, makes for the ultimate Father's Day gift!
The event on June 17 will feature a cooking class with the master himself, where participants will learn from Myron how to prepare several classic barbecue dishes. The celebration continues on June 18, where an impressive spread of barbecue favorites will line the great lawn at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for the Honolulu BBQ and Blues Festival. Participants will savor their grilled favorites to the sounds of Hawaiian swing band Kahulanui, iconic contemporary Hawaiian band, Kalapana and other special guest artists.
Cooking Class with Pitmaster Myron Mixon
Hilton Hawaiian Village presents the rare opportunity to dig into the vast barbecue knowledge through one of Myron's cooking classes - renowned by competition cooks and backyard hobbyists alike. Myron will leave no stone unturned as he reveals both techniques and recipes that have made him the most decorated BBQ chef in history. Participants will prepare a full barbecue spread from the ground up, from rubs to a rack of ribs, BBQ chicken, sides and more, all in classic southern fashion. Beer and wine will also be served as guests taste and savor their creations.

All are invited to indulge in a top-notch barbecue feast prepared by Pitmaster Myron Mixon at this special event. The menu will include smoked southern-style hog, smoked turkey, chicken, dry-rub ribs, brisket, sausage, Hawaiian imu-style hog, a variety of southern BBQ sides and a Georgia-inspired dessert station. Bars serving beer, wine and other beverages will also be open. Musical performances will be presented by Kahulanui, Kalapana and other special guests.
