SURFERS PARADISE, Australia - Hilton Surfers Paradise has taken part in Careers@Hilton Week, Hilton’s annual global career event showcasing the many diverse opportunities available in the hospitality industry for young job seekers.
On May 16, Hilton Surfers Paradise partnered with The Smith Family, welcoming 15 local students who participated in the three-day Work Inspirations program. The program offered engagement between Hilton team members and the students in a variety of ways, including:
- Providing a unique opportunity for team members to be a part of the participant’s growth throughout the program and engage in informative and meaningful career conversations.
- Allowing participants to explore their interests and strengths as well as building communication and teamwork skills with each other and hotel Team Members.
- Presenting groups of young Australians the experience of working in a hotel and going behind the scenes to see the variety of career opportunities available when working at a Hilton property.
- Offering an experience where young people can gain an awareness of work ethic and a new confidence for a future career.
The partnership with The Smith Family on the Work Inspiration program underscores Hilton’s global commitment to connect, prepare and employ one million young people by 2019, and enable them to reach their full potential.
“The hospitality industry is full of exciting opportunities for young people” said Fiona Pryde, general manager, Hilton Surfers Paradise. “Hilton Surfers Paradise is thrilled to support such a valuable program and are honored we are able to share our passion and insight with the next generation of leaders.”
