Croatia Set to Welcome First Hilton Garden Inn Hotel
ZAGREB, Croatia and MCLEAN, Va. - Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has signed a franchise agreement with R21c Projekt d.o.o. to open Hilton Garden Inn Zagreb. The 150 guest-room hotel is set to open next year and joins DoubleTree by Hilton Zagreb and Canopy by Hilton Zagreb in Croatia's capital.
Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton said: "Hilton Garden Inn Zagreb is a terrific new-build property set for one of the city's most exciting districts. Located on Radnicka Street, the area is a thriving commercial district with corporate Samsung, HP, Allianz and Redbull offices in the area. The city is in an exciting phase of growth, having recently doubled its airport capacity with the opening of a new terminal last year, and the addition of another Hilton property will further improve Zagreb's global tourist offering."
Zagreb is undergoing a tourism revival. Competing with the country's popular coastal destinations, Croatia's capital city continues to be on the country's top destinations. Popular for short city breaks and as a host for corporate and leisure events, new airline routes to its new terminal have opened Zagreb to new markets in the Middle East and Asia.
Hilton Garden Inn Zagreb will include a restaurant, bar and modern conference facilities on the 8th floor and a fitness centre when it opens as part of a mix-use development that includes two office towers. The hotel will be Hilton's third hotel in the city, joining DoubleTree by Hilton Zagreb, which opened in 2012 and Canopy by Hilton Zagreb, which is due to open later this year. Zagreb City Hotels will operate all three hotels.
Josipa Jutt Ferlan, CEO, Zagreb City Hotels: "Hilton Garden Inn Zagreb will be a great addition to one of the city's most important business districts. Hilton is the right partner for this project and building on the success of our DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, we can't wait to welcome more guests to Zagreb."
Hilton Garden Inn Zagreb joins more than 100 Hilton Garden Inn hotels trading or under development in Europe.
Hilton Garden Inn Zagreb is located on the corner of Radnicka Street and Zaharova Street.
