Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station Opens as Vibrant Host and Community Hub

DENVER, Colo. - Today, Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station, located at the intersection of Denver’s Union Station, LoDo and Ballpark neighborhoods, opens its doors. The urban hotel, owned by Focus Property Group and operated by Davidson Hotels & Resorts, features 233 spacious and light-filled rooms and suites. The hotel’s light and bright custom design was conceptualized by Johnson Nathan Strohe (JNS). The industrial chic interiors incorporate nods to the Mile High City, from leather and earth-toned color schemes to mountain-scape patterns, and live-edged wooden tables to exposed concrete structural columns. Complementing the hotel’s design is an art collection curated by local firm NINE dot ARTS.
One of the city’s earliest firehouses, Hose House No. 1 (Denver Landmark 164) sits on the corner of 20th and Chestnut Streets, and the 12-story hotel was developed with this piece of history in mind. Designed in an intentional L-shape around the landmark in order to preserve it, the formerly dilapidated building was also carefully restored as a restaurant, named Woodie Fisher, after one of Denver's earliest fire foremen. A skylight was incorporated into its design, offering a look up at the hotel, whereas floor-to-ceiling windows on the east side of the hotel, affectionately referred to as the “glass house,” provide a glimpse into the restaurant – and a dialogue between old and new.
