Hilton Austin Receives Top Awards For Excellence And Leadership
Austin is Home to the Highest Ranked Hilton Branded Hotel in the Americas Led by Hilton’s 2017 Leader of the Year Robert Watson
AUSTIN - Hilton Austin held a celebration event on April 5 that welcomed more than 300 guests, Austin city officials, VIPs and community partners as the hotel received the 2017 Connie Award, a Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand award with the highest honor. As the recipient of this award, Hilton Austin demonstrated the greatest level of quality and service out of 150 Hilton-branded hotels that have over 500 rooms, and ranks as a leading Hilton hotel in the Americas.
In addition to the 2017 Connie Award, Hilton Austin’s General Manager Robert Watson was named “Leader of the Year” by Hilton. Out of 287 Hilton general managers in the Americas, this award is presented to the general manager who best represents hospitality by living Hilton values and bringing culture and purpose to life in their hotel.
“This is an amazing time for our hotel and we want to share this excitement with our guests as well. The City of Austin can now say they are home to one of the top Hilton hotels in America,” said Robert Watson, general manager, Hilton Austin. “Our Hilton Austin team lives and breathes service and this award is a direct reflection of how passionate they are about meeting the needs of our guests, every day. We want to invite travelers to come experience all that our award-winning hotel has to offer.”
During the awards celebration, Hilton Austin invited Travis High School hospitality instructor, Jayma Vaughn, to speak about the impact Hilton Austin and its team has made on the school through volunteer work and donations over the last decade. Hilton Austin’s director of human resources, Bea Jaramillo, presented a check for $5,000 for the school to use for a new cafeteria that will be named in honor of the company’s founder, Conrad Hilton.
“Our hotel has experienced some great successes over the last 10 years, and along the way we always find a way to give back to the community who supports us,” said Jaramillo. “Travis High School is a long-term community partner and has become a tremendous part of our culture. Making them a part of our awards celebration and event is a testament to both our commitment to them, and our gratitude for their partnership.”
