Hilton Worldwide Revitalizes a Piece of Chicago History with New Hampton Inn by Hilton
Following a Multi-Million Dollar Renovation, the Historic Chicago Motor Club Building Comes Back to Life, Featuring One of the Few Remaining Art Deco Lobbies in the City
CHICAGO and MCLEAN, Va. - Hilton Worldwide announced the opening of Hampton Inn by Hilton Chicago Downtown/N Loop/Michigan Ave, its newest property to join Hampton by Hilton , the global brand of more than 2,000 mid-priced Hampton Inn by Hilton, Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton and Hampton by Hilton hotels. The new hotel is owned by Integrated Motor Club LLC, an affiliate of Murphy Asset Management (MAM), and managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts.
Formally the iconic Art Deco Chicago Motor Club building, the LEED Certified Hampton Inn by Hilton Chicago Downtown/N Loop/Michigan Ave is located at 68 East Wacker Place, one block south of the Chicago River. The 143-room hotel is close to popular area attractions including the Magnificent Mile, Lake Michigan's beaches, Millennium Park, Shedd Aquarium and Navy Pier.

Paying homage to the landmark's contribution to the United States' car culture, a significant amount of the renovation budget has been dedicated to preserving the 33-foot high lobby featuring a 29-foot mural of popular road destinations, designed by John Warner Norton. As one of the few remaining Art Deco lobbies in Chicago, the space includes two balconies on the mezzanine level overlooking the lobby, one of which has a 1928 Ford Model A on display as a tribute to the history of the building. Jack's Place, a 67-seat cocktail bar, is located on the first floor, making the hotel one of only a few Hampton Inn by Hilton hotels nationally to have a lobby bar.

Standing 17-stories high, Hampton Inn by Hilton Chicago Downtown/N Loop/Michigan Ave offers amenities, such as free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour business center with complimentary printing, a 624 square foot meeting space that can accommodate up to 74 people and a fitness center featuring state-of-the-art cardio equipment. Guests can relax in Jack's Place bar located on the lobby level, and delight in the signature cocktail, "Giggle Water." The hotel also provides free On the House hot breakfast as well as Hampton's On the RunTM Breakfast Bags, available Monday through Friday.
The new hotel features the Perfect Mix Lobby, designed as an extension of the guestroom with a variety of seating and lighting options for both leisure and business travelers. Additionally, the hotel features a 24-hour Suite Shop, a food and beverage shop filled with snacks and toiletries for purchase. Guestrooms are equipped with the brand's signature Clean and fresh Hampton bed®, 42" LCD TV, iron with ironing board and coffeemaker.
