With the trend for staycations continuing to rise, research1 out today by Hampton by Hilton has revealed the travel habits of Poles. Hilton's (NYSE: HLT) global brand of nearly 2,200 mid-priced hotels, found that 73 per cent of people planning a short trip in 2017, will do so within Poland. According to The Ministry of Sport and Tourism Report 20152, the percentage of Polish residents that enjoyed short domestic trips in 2015 reached 35 per cent, growing from just 23 per cent in 2011.

A recent survey on behalf of Hilton Worldwide’s (NYSE: HLT) global brand Hampton by Hilton uncovered a new type of traveler that has been defined as the “Seekender.” This new group regularly takes advantage of weekends to spontaneously enjoy new experiences, with travel being at the top of the list. The study, conducted by Wakefield Research*, also revealed that Seekenders base their travel around four main types of activities/passions: food, sports, music or the great outdoors.
