Embassy Suites by Hilton Berkeley Heights Tops Outs
Berkeley Heights, NJ and MCLEAN, Va. - Embassy Suites by Hilton, Hilton Worldwide's (NYSE: HLT) global brand of upscale, all-suite hotels, announced today the "topping out" of Embassy Suites by Hilton Berkeley Heights, signifying that the project has reached its maximum height and the structural framework is complete. Developed and owned by Connell Real Estate and Development, the 174-suite, eight-story hotel will be the fifth Embassy Suites by Hilton in New Jersey and features the brand's latest design concept, Design Option III. The hotel will be managed by Davidson Hotels and Resorts. Construction began on the property in February 2015 and it is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2016.
The hotel, designed by PFVS Architecture, out of Atlanta, is being constructed by Tocci Building Companies, in the Connell Business Park at Connell Drive and Interstate 78, in Berkeley Heights, NJ. The hotel’s restaurant, Grain & Cane Bar & Table, is located inside the property and will be serving crafted American grill cuisine to both hotel guests and local patrons. The hotel and restaurant are expected to employ approximately 80 team members upon completion. The Connell Business Park also houses notable tenants, including L’Oréal, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, AIG, Celgene and Plymouth Rock.
Embassy Suites by Hilton Berkeley Heights is a Design Option III property, which decreases the amount of land needed and creates efficiencies for both construction and operational costs. The innovative and flexible design features a variety of side-by-side suites, shotgun suites and one-room suites, in addition to a contemporary atrium where guests can relax, socialize and enjoy natural elements and flowing water.
Guests will enjoy a range of signature Embassy Suites by Hilton brand amenities at the new hotel, including a free made-to-order breakfast, a two-hour complimentary evening reception with snacks and drinks* and all-suite accommodations with two 55-inch flat-screen high-definition televisions and wet bar fitted with a microwave, mini-fridge and a selection of gourmet coffee and teas from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®. Upon completion, the property will have almost 15,000 square feet of meeting space, complimentary 24-hour fitness and business centers, an indoor saltwater pool and a full service, 2,500 square foot Starbucks®. Guests will have access to a park that is being built in conjunction with the hotel. The park, slated to open in late summer, will be located a short walk from the hotel and will contain outdoor gaming and work stations, a 5,600 square foot Alfresco Plaza/Amphitheater, complimentary Wi-Fi, as well as covered communal tables and picnic areas. Additionally, the hotel’s restaurant, Grain & Cane Bar & Table, will offer a food truck option for outdoor dining.
