Michael Glass Named General Manager of DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Detroit Downtown - Fort Shelby
DETROIT - DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Detroit Downtown - Fort Shelby has appointed Michael Glass as General Manager. Most recently, Glass served as General Manager of the DoubleTree by Hilton Minneapolis North.
In his new role, Glass will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the 203-room hotel in the historic Fort Shelby building. With every room a two-room suite, the property offers more space than many other hotels in Detroit, perfect to rest, work and play.
A 14-year hospitality veteran, Glass began his career in hospitality at Outback Steakhouse in Grand Rapids, Michigan. From there, Glass entered the hotel industry, holding General Manager positions at Courtyard by Marriott in Louisville, Kentucky, the Hilton Garden Inn in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, New Orleans, Hampton Inn and Suites, Jackson, Mississippi and Sheraton Minneapolis West Hotel in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
Glass holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Grand Valley State University, Allendale, Michigan and a Master Certificate in Essential of Hospitality Management from Cornell University.
