Hilton to Open First Hotel in La Coruña
DoubleTree by Hilton expands portfolio with new hotel in Spanish port city
LA CORUÑA, Spain and MCLEAN, Va. - Today, Hilton (NYSE: HLT) signed a franchise agreement with Center Coruña Hoteles S.L. to bring DoubleTree by Hilton to the Galicia region of Spain. The 59-guest-room property, including a number of suites, is set to open next year in the historical city centre of La Coruña, and will feature design-led interiors.
“Demand for destinations in Northern Spain is growing – a 20 percent year-over-year increase in new flight routes into La Coruña has opened up the city to international markets,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton. “The prospering local economy makes La Coruña a great setting in which to continue the expansion of DoubleTree by Hilton in Spain.”
DoubleTree by Hilton La Coruña’s location in the heart of the city makes it an ideal base for both business and leisure travellers. The hotel will be situated only a few steps from major tourist attractions, including the Plaza de María Pita, Museo Bellas Artes – Casa Museo Picasso and the famous Tower of Hercules. The region is now home to a number of established international businesses, including Inditex, one of the largest textile manufacturers in the world.

The hotel will feature 59 modern guest rooms and suites, as well as a bar and dining outlet, which will offer terrace seating. Other amenities will include a fitness centre, flexible meeting space and a library.
