JAKARTA, Indonesia - Hilton, one of the fastest-growing hospitality companies in the world, recently celebrated its momentous 100th anniversary on May 31, 2019. Staying true to the spirit of hospitality, the company continues to spread the light and warmth of hospitality beyond its hotels by delivering “Acts of Hospitality” in the communities it operates in across the year.
In Jakarta, Indonesia, Team Members at DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta-Diponegoro honoured the Public Facility Maintenance Agency (commonly known as the Rainbow Troops) yesterday evening at an appreciation dinner graced by Gamal Sinurat, Deputy Governor Ad Interim for Population and Settlement Control and Irwandi, S.H, M.M, M.H, the Vice Mayor of Central Jakarta Administrative City.
Constituting several different factions including Handling, Infrastructure and Public Facilities (Orange Troops), Bina Marga Task Force (Yellow Troops), Water Resources Task Force (Blue Troops) and Forestry Task Force (Green Troops), the Rainbow Troops were recognised for their tireless support in keeping the hotel’s surrounding areas safe, clean and hospitable for guests and the wider community through a specially curated and locally inspired dinner at the hotel.
The celebration was especially significant as the DoubleTree by Hilton brand turns 50 this year whilst DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta – Diponegoro marks the fifth year since it opened its doors to guests in 2014.
“This is a significant year for us – we celebrated our 100th anniversary as a company on 31 May and mark the 50th anniversary of the DoubleTree by Hilton brand this year. It’s also a very special year for us here at DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta-Diponegoro as it is the fifth year since we opened our doors to guests in 2014. We have achieved so much since the launch of our hotel and our success is as much a reflection of the hard work and contributions of the Public Facility Maintenance Agency, as our own Team Members,” said Nils-Arne Schroeder, Regional General Manager of Hilton Indonesia and Timor Leste and General Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta – Diponegoro.
“We are immensely thankful to the Public Facility Maintenance Agency for their dedication to keeping the city’s streets clean and welcoming for both residents and visitors alike, and as we continue to deliver the Hilton Effect here in Indonesia, we look forward to continue working with them as our partner on our journey to positively impact the community we operate in and delivering exceptional experiences to all our guests who walk through our doors,” Schroeder added.
"We would like to express our gratitude to Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta - Diponegoro for recognising the efforts of the Rainbow Troops. We are thrilled to be a part of their milestone celebrations, and are hugely appreciative of their corporate commitment to giving back to the community," said Dr. Bayu Meghantara, M.Si, Mayor of Central Jakarta Administrative City. "We hope that we can continue to work alongside them for many more years to come, to make Jakarta a wonderful place for all to visit.”
The appreciation dinner in Jakarta took place off the back of a series of recent activations in South East Asia to commemorate Hilton’s 100th anniversary – including Hilton Da Nang’s pledge to plant 100 trees in line with their corporate social responsibility initiative, Travel with Purpose, and DoubleTree by Hilton Penang’s hosted dinner for underprivileged children to break their fast during Ramadan.
Community celebrations and engagements are set to continue across South East Asia throughout the rest of Hilton’s 100th year.
