Highline Welcomes Vail Travelers Following Rebrand
The 116-room modern mountain resort anchors West Vail, providing gateway to vibrant mountain community
VAIL, Colo. - Highline, a 116-room modern mountain resort in Vail, Colorado, announced its official rebrand — just in time for the 2019/2020 ski season. Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG), an Atlanta-based, private hotel investment, ownership and management company, will operate the hotel, which will remain a part of the growing DoubleTree by Hilton portfolio.
“Highline is well positioned to cater to an array of travelers who flock to one of the most vibrant mountain communities in the world,” said Richard Jones, executive vice-president and chief operating officer, HVMG. “Nestled prominently in West Vail, Highline is committed to providing the community with a bespoke, local experience, coupled with the high level of hospitality for which our growing, nationwide hotel portfolio is known.”
The refined, rustic design by architectural and design firm Baskervill cements a mountain escape experience at Highline, providing modern conveniences coupled with the sophistication of a contemporary ski chalet. An elevated cabin-in-the-woods aesthetic can be found throughout the property, from the A-frame communal lobby and restaurant to comfortable guest rooms and spacious residential loft suites. Punctuated by regionally inspired art pieces and fixtures, the design features weathered woods as well as slate and sleek leather accents in a palette of soothing neutrals, drawing influence from the surrounding landscape.
Greeted with famous, warm DoubleTree chocolate chip cookies upon arrival, guests of Highline are an extension of the Vail community, and the personable Highline team members ensure a level of comfortability and familiarity from check-in to check-out. Steeped in its culture, the Highline team is made up of Vail residents who are eager to share their favorite destinations — dining, shopping, adventure or otherwise, ensuring guests experience the town’s authentic appeal.
Highline is located just minutes from Vail Village and Lionshead, which are pedestrian villages lined with world-class shopping, dining and nightlife, where annual events, including Oktoberfest and the Farmers Market and Art Show, keep the town bustling throughout the year. Perfect for travelers looking to escape the masses and experience the town’s authentic appeal, Highline anchors the West Vail neighborhood and is just steps away from hidden gem restaurants and bars filled with locals. The mountains just beyond Highline’s sunbathed backyard feature uncrowded trails popular amongst residents, while the walkable restaurants, retail and more provide guests a feeling of at-home comfort, for a fully relaxed mountain experience.
Vail Ski Resort, the largest ski mountain in Colorado, is easily accessible via The Lift, the resort’s door-to-mountain courtesy vehicle. More comfortable than a typical ski shuttle experience, The Lift offers its riders water to hydrate, hot chocolate for warmth and an in-the-know local at the wheel to provide recommendations on the best runs, eateries and more to enjoy in Vail Village.
Meetings & Amenities
Highline offers 5,755 square feet of flexible indoor/outdoor meetings and events space. Intimate board meetings and executive leadership trainings, wedding receptions, holiday parties and more can be held in one of the resort’s five event spaces, including its sundrenched backyard, featuring a community fireplace and firepit for the cooler months. Highline guests can also enjoy the resort’s secluded backyard by taking a dip in the pool — heated year-round — and hot tub. An adjacent fitness center, featuring windows that open out onto the pool deck, creates a serene home-away-from-home exercise environment.
For those traveling without gear, guests of Highline receive 30% off at the onsite Charter Sports for summer and winter equipment rentals, from bikes and e-bikes, to skis, snowboards, snowshoes and more. Highline makes travelers’ adventures seamless with complimentary gear storage and boot dryers to ready ski and snowboard gear for next-day adventures. For recovery and respite from the abundance of adventure just beyond its doors, Highline is also home to Simply Massage, offering therapeutic deep tissue, sports, trigger point and other types of massages.
Pivot62, the restaurant adjacent to Highline’s lobby, features shareable plates and, most notably, pizza from Vail’s only wood-burning oven. Handcrafted, award-winning cocktails fuel après — part of Vail’s DNA — at Highline and can be enjoyed throughout the property: in-room, inside Pivot62 as the snow falls outside or in Highline’s backyard, laden with wooden chairs, while enjoying the crisp mountain air or cozying up to the fireplace. The lobby draws guests and locals together; its plush seating invites guests to relax or work while enjoying the warming central fireplace, while one of the only shuffleboard tables in Vail welcomes friendly competition and fosters new connections. Both spaces feature floor-to-ceiling windows, boasting breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains, tempting guests to linger longer.
Guest rooms at Highline feature complimentary Wi-Fi, LCD TVs, chaise lounges, Keurig coffee makers, mini refrigerators and more. Residential loft suites, reminiscent of classic ski chalets, feature sleeper sofas, kitchens and lofts. Families and friends can enjoy a modern mountain vacation by cooking, dining, lounging and sleeping under the same roof. Guests also have 24-hour access to Made Market, offering a wide selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner grab-and-go items to fuel up before or after enjoying the outdoors.
Highline offers ample resort parking, both self-park and valet, providing guests with the option to take their cars to nearby offsite adventures or simply forget about them during the duration of their stay.
