Seven Unexpected – and Delicious – Recipes From Around the World for National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day

🍪 Looking for the official DoubleTree Cookie recipe? You're in luck, it was recently released.

Just in time for National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, DoubleTree by Hilton is proud to introduce the third edition of our Cook(ie) Book, Mission: Cookie, a space-themed recipe book that takes inspiration from our very own DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie.

Mission: Cookie’s theme stemmed from the 50th anniversary of the lunar landing and the recent announcement that our famous chocolate chip cookie will be the first food baked in space (learn more from former NASA astronaut Mike Massimino and oven developers from Zero G Kitchen). The book features more than 30 out-of-this-world recipes created by DoubleTree hotels around the globe that incorporate the cookie in some very creative and unexpected ways.

To help you celebrate this sweet holiday, we are giving out free cookies at our more than 565 properties around the world on August 4 and inviting Hilton’s more than 94 million Hilton Honors members to redeem Points for freshly baked Hilton Honors experiences at DoubleTree properties in Lima, Amsterdam, Perth and Phoenix.

See below for a look into some of the most unique and mouthwatering recipes featured in the book.

1. DoubleTree Cookie Coco Latte (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia):

DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur Barista Daniel Shadizar created this mocktail with espresso coffee, milk, coconut syrup and DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie pieces – a burst of sweet caffeine perfect for any time of day. For an out-of-this-world look, be sure to follow the recipe by using grass jelly powder and sugar when creating the ice cubes.

2. DoubleTree Cookie Kunafa Basket (Dubai, United Arab Emirates):

Created by Senior Chef de Partie Kareem Askar of DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai – Business Bay, this recipe is inspired by the thousand-year-old classic Arabian dessert. Blending mango puree, pistachio powder and Arabic kistha, this fun twist on a typical chocolate chip cookie recipe pairs perfectly with a hot cup of tea.

3. DoubleTree Cookie Coconut & Honey Saucers (San Jose, California):

Short on time? Our Chief Cookie Officer Roger Maune, who is also the executive chef at DoubleTree by Hilton San Jose, created the recipe with inspiration from the moon and flying saucers in outer space. It incorporates freeze-dried honey, coconut gelato and our signature cookie to create a sweet treat for those on Earth and beyond.

4. DoubleTree Cookie Duck Breast & Chevre Salad (Oradea, Romania):

Combining goat cheese, a local favorite ingredient, with our DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie, pine nuts, duck breast, potatoes and white wine, Executive Chef Alessandro Corradi of DoubleTree by Hilton Oradea created an elevated salad anyone with a love for savory sweets will enjoy.

5. DoubleTree Cookie Crusted Wok-Fried Shrimp (Chengdu, China):

For an easy-to-cook Chinese-influenced dish, try this recipe from Executive Chef Derek Leong of DoubleTree by Hilton Chengdu – Longquanyi. If you’re a seafood fan, you’ll love this shrimp dish that is fried with mayonnaise, soy sauce and cookies.

6. DoubleTree Cookie Churros (Santa Fe, México):

Pastry Chef Jose Antonio Acosta Rico, who works at DoubleTree by Hilton México City Santa Fe, had Mexican history in mind when creating this recipe, as many local families have enjoyed eating churros with “chocolate caliente” since the 16th century. It incorporates ingredients including cinnamon, cookies and vanilla.

7. DoubleTree Cookie Alberta Beef Pops (Edmonton, Canada):

Have you ever imagined combining beer batter, sirloin pops, a coffee and bacon-infused jam and cookie dust into one recipe? We’ll guess you haven’t, but that’s exactly what Executive Sous Chef Adam Brack of DoubleTree by Hilton West Edmonton did to make this savory treat, which also features a wide range of local ingredients.
