Hilton Worldwide Continues Polish Expansion of Hampton by Hilton
JELENIA GORA, Poland and MCLEAN, Va. - Hilton Worldwide is increasing its presence in Poland with the signing of its first hotel in the regional city of Jelenia Góra. The three story, 118-guestroom hotel is due to open later this year under its Hampton by Hilton brand, joining 17 Hilton Worldwide hotels currently operating or under development in Poland.
The hotel is owned by Ariadne Sp. z o.o. Headquartered in Szczecin, Poland. The company is currently undertaking a major project which will convert an existing shopping mall in Jelenia Góra into a large scale mixed-use project that will include the new hotel.
Hampton by Hilton Jelenia Góra will be situated within walking distance of the city's picturesque old town and all guests at the hotel will be treated to a hot breakfast included in the room rate, a feature of every Hampton by Hilton hotel worldwide. Phil Cordell, global head, focused service and Hampton brand management, Hilton Worldwide said, "Hampton by Hilton Jelenia Góra will be the first internationally branded hotel in the city and continues the growth of our affordable brands in some of Poland's top locations. Guests visiting the hotel will have the choice of exploring the historical city, or venturing to the nearby Karkonosze Mountains, which offer some of the best skiing facilities in Poland. We look forward to welcoming guests with the great service and local knowledge for which the Hampton by Hilton brand is known."
Jelenia Góra is famed for its historic spa, the Cieplice Zdrój. Established in 1281, Cieplice Zdrój is considered to be the oldest spa in Poland and, attracts large numbers of visitors each year, many of whom believe the thermal spa waters have healing qualities. Host to a number of large scale cultural events such as the International Street Theatre Festival, and Vienna Music Festival, Jelenia Góra attracts a diverse range of visitors, contributing to a rich demand mix for hotel accommodation. The hotel's meeting facilities are likely to appeal to the city's large business community.
Patrick Fitzgibbon senior vice president, development, Europe & Africa, Hilton Worldwide said, "Poland is an increasingly attractive development market where in recent years we have successfully established a presence in some of the country's largest tourist hubs including Gdansk, Warsaw and Krakow. As one of the few European markets whose economy avoided economic contraction during the recent global financial crisis, Poland offers terrific scope to benefit from further value branded hotels, such as the new Hampton by Hilton Jelenia Góra."
