NEW YORK - The Empire State Pride Agenda, New York's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) advocacy organization, today announced honorees for the 11th annual Equality@Work Awards. This year's honorees represent a diversity of industries and backgrounds encompassing a wide scope of inclusive LGBT policies and practices, and have raised awareness of LGBT issues within companies across New York State.
The 2014 Equality@Work Awards luncheon will take place on Monday, June 16, 2014 at JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s Manhattan headquarters. The Equality@Work Awards recognize New York companies and individuals that are creating inclusive work environments that respect, welcome and support lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) professionals.
- Hilton Worldwide, one of world's most recognized hotel companies, leads the way with all-encompassing non-discrimination policy, benefit, and diversity training. They have also shown their commitment to the LGBT community through their popular "Stay Hilton. Go Out." campaign.
- Moody's LGBTA Employee Resource Group has been effective in positively influencing Moody's workplace culture. Since 2009, Moody's LGBTA ERG has initiated significant benefits enhancements including gross-up reimbursement and transition-related healthcare for transgender employees, implemented extensive educational programs in concert with Moody's Diversity & Inclusion team, increased LGBT awareness and grew its own membership from 25 to more than 175 active members.

"When corporations, organizations and individuals like these make progressive steps toward more equitable workplaces and communities, it challenges others to do the same," said Empire State Pride Agenda Pride in My Workplace Program Manager Jack Denelsbeck. "Corporate leaders like this year's distinguished honorees share the values of attracting, supporting, motivating and retaining LGBT employees, and making New York the best place for LGBT people to live and work. We celebrate these companies and individuals and look forward to recognizing them formally on June 16."
"As the world's leading hospitality company we provide a warm welcome to the world and celebrate the rich cultures of our team members and across our communities. We believe that travel has a unique ability to enrich and inspire people everywhere. Our vision to fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality begins with a collaborative and supportive workplace for every member of our team," said Matt Schuyler, chief human resources officer, Hilton Worldwide.
"We're honored to receive the Pride Agenda's Equality@Word Award highlighting the accomplishments of the Moody's LGBTA Employee Resource Group," said Thomas Keller, Managing Director, the executive sponsor of the group. "Since its inception, the Moody's LGBTA group has been instrumental in building an inclusive work environment where all Moody's employees feel valued and supported."

"Solving the business challenges of today requires collaborative action and leadership by senior corporate executives and LGBT advocacy groups, like Empire State Pride Agenda."
