Empire State Pride Agenda Announces Hilton Worldwide Is Among 2014 Equality@Work Award Honorees
Hilton Worldwide, Moody’s and Todd Sears honored in the 11th Annual Equality@Work Awards to celebrate New York companies and individuals that are creating LGBT inclusive workplaces
NEW YORK - The Empire State Pride Agenda, New York's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) advocacy organization, today announced honorees for the 11th annual Equality@Work Awards. This year's honorees represent a diversity of industries and backgrounds encompassing a wide scope of inclusive LGBT policies and practices, and have raised awareness of LGBT issues within companies across New York State.
The 2014 Equality@Work Awards luncheon will take place on Monday, June 16, 2014 at JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s Manhattan headquarters. The Equality@Work Awards recognize New York companies and individuals that are creating inclusive work environments that respect, welcome and support lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) professionals.
- Hilton Worldwide, one of world's most recognized hotel companies, leads the way with all-encompassing non-discrimination policy, benefit, and diversity training. The company supports a number of LGBT organizations around the world and Team Member Resource Groups celebrate the cultures within its diverse workforce. They have also shown their commitment to the LGBT community through their popular "Stay Hilton. Go Out." campaign.
- Moody's LGBTA Employee Resource Group has been effective in positively influencing Moody's workplace culture. Since 2009, Moody's LGBTA ERG has initiated significant benefits enhancements including gross-up reimbursement and transition-related healthcare for transgender employees, implemented extensive educational programs in concert with Moody's Diversity & Inclusion team, increased LGBT awareness and grew its own membership from 25 to more than 175 active members.
- Todd Sears launched the first global LGBT business organization, which has grown to include 20 banks and 19 law firms in three short years. Out Leadership, Todd's strategic advising company has engaged more than 40 global CEOs, more than a thousand corporate and LGBT advocacy senior leaders, and more than 100 emerging leaders in innovative global initiatives that seek to impact business results, develop talent and drive equality forward in the finance, law and insurance industries.

The Pride Agenda's Equality@Work Awards is the annual celebration of the organization's Pride in My Workplace Program (PIMW), which encourages all sectors of the workforce throughout the State of New York to be free of discrimination and to affirm the presence and contributions of their LGBT employees.
This program develops relationships with employers and builds strong alliances with business leaders to further the goal of achieving equality and justice for all LGBT New Yorkers. Pride in My Workplace provides no-cost technical assistance and partners with businesses and agencies in producing panels and trainings.
