The Coburg Awarded 2 AA Rosettes
Major accolade for Conrad Dublin’s Brasserie, within months of opening
DUBLIN, Ireland - The Coburg at the 5* Conrad Dublin, has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes in recognition of their culinary excellence.
Formerly Alex Restaurant, Conrad Dublin's new eatery is The Coburg, a relaxed, brasserie featuring an all-day menu that is locally-inspired. A stark contrast from its predecessor, The Coburg holds a unique place amongst five star hotels in Dublin by deliberately steering clear of a fine dining offering and instead, offering a menu that is more aligned to today's cosmopolitan Dublin, with a more relaxed vibe.
Commenting on the award, General Manager, Martin Mangan said, "What an amazing start to 2017 for Conrad Dublin and our dedicated Team. 2016 saw the completion of our vision, and we are thrilled to receive this coveted award from the AA, only months after completing our rennovation programme. The Coburg opened in April 2016, so we are especially delighted to receive 2 AA Rosettes."
Executive Chef, Dmitry Stroykov, who uses ingredients from many local producers and suppliers, has created the Coburg menu. Dmitry Stroykov, said: "The ingredients we use in the kitchen are central to our menu creation and guests recognise that many producers and suppliers are local to the area. Our guests call by for a casual brunch, a late business lunch, or an early pre-theatre supper, which offers real flexibility to diners who don't want their schedules determined by a restaurant's opening times."
The AA has been awarding Rosettes since 1955, which are awarded annually to hotels producing fine cuisine. There are only 41 restaurants in Ireland that currently have the award offering an insightful guide to diners on where to eat. AA Rosettes are awarded solely for the quality of the restaurant's cooking that demonstrates consistent standards of all dishes on the menus. To specifically achieve an AA Rosette Award, innovation, greater technical skills, consistency and judgement in combining and balancing ingredients are required. Rosettes are only awarded to those restaurants, which aim for and achieve higher standards. They must exhibit greater precision in their cooking and selection of quality ingredients. Commenting on the award, AA states, "Strong physicals aside, it is the proactive and hospitable aptitude demonstrated by so many of the team that really impresses, nothing is too much trouble when it comes to guest care, all of this underpinned by sound professional service procedures. This was very much in evidence in the Food & Beverage areas. An award of 2 AA Rosettes for Culinary Excellence being made in respect of the Coburg Brasserie".
