Hilton to Nurture Hospitality Talent in Indonesia through Hilton Class Program at Bali State Polytechnic
BALI, Indonesia - Hilton (NYSE:HLT) today announced the signing of a school partnership agreement with Bali State Polytechnic. Under the partnership, Hilton will leverage its global expertise and resources, and its presence in Indonesia, to deliver a Hilton Class program that will provide industry-focused knowledge and hands-on skills training to complement the institution's curriculum. This partnership is Hilton's first academic alliance in Indonesia and its fifth in the South East Asia and India region.
"Our partnership with Bali State Polytechnic underscores our commitment to Indonesia and its growing tourism industry. By providing tomorrow's talent a new avenue to grow their capabilities and learn more about hospitality, we hope to open their minds to the world of opportunities our industry has to offer and to make a positive impact on their future," said Nils-Arne Schroeder, regional general manager, Indonesia, Hilton.
The Hilton Class program is part of Open Doors, Hilton's global commitment to impact at least one million young people by 2019 by helping them realize their full potential. Engaging and preparing young people through school alliances, apprenticeship programs and professional development programs is part of Hilton's approach to drive programs that connect, prepare and employ young people around the world. The Open Doors commitment builds on Travel with Purpose, the company's global corporate responsibility strategy to create shared value for the communities, business and environment in which it operates.
"Bali State Polytechnic is honored to partner Hilton on the Hilton Class program which offers our students invaluable real-world exposure that is not possible in an academic setting. This alliance is testament to the commitment to our vision to develop graduates who will be competitive in the dynamic global tourism job market," said Ir. Made Mudhina, Director of Bali State Polytechnic.
Under the partnership, up to 35 promising students from the institution will be selected for the Hilton Class program. These students will attend Hilton Class as part of their industrial training, in addition to their academic curriculum at the institution. Hilton will also host guest lectures and presentations, as well as organize on-site visits to Hilton hotels.
Students under the Hilton Class program will also be offered internships at Hilton hotels in Indonesia for a period of three to six months, during which they will benefit from on-the-job training across key hotel functions. In addition, Hilton may offer top performing students full-time employment upon their graduation from Bali State Polytechnic.
