A grand tour around the chocolate world at Lobby Lounge
HONG KONG - Conrad Hong Kong and Valrhona, the French royalty of cocoa, are teaming up for a cocoa journey exclusively crafted for the chocolate connoisseurs.
From 3 April, an indulgent Chocolate Afternoon Tea Set will be served at Lobby Lounge featuring concoctions of savouries and sweet treats. The confections feature different cocoa varieties, such as crispy chocolate choux using Guanaja 70% for an extraordinary bitterness flavour, and smooth and creamy chocolate apricot tart with Dulcey 32% for its velvety and enveloping texture. “The subtle floral aromas of Alpaco 66% from Ecuador balanced the flavor of passion fruit with its supremely intense chocolate taste making this newly created mousse cake one of my favourites.” said Chef Billy. Priced at HK$238 per set, the themed tea set will be accompanied by scrummy homemade chocolate chip scones and an option of Valrhona Chocolate Cappuccino or tea. Four Valrhona Chocolate Cappuccinos highlighting four different single origins and intensities of cocoa are available for guest to select for completing the gourmand chocolate experience.
Taking guests on a sensuous cocoa tour, Conrad Hong Kong’s Pastry Chef Billy Yuen has incorporated his favourite Valrhona creations into the afternoon tea buffet spread over the weekends. From the blond chocolate- Dulcey 32% to the Araguani 72%- made from rare Venezuelan cocoa beans offering long lasting finish on the palate, eight kinds of artisan quality chocolates can be sampled through a selection of buffet delicacies that are all laid out nicely on the buffet spread. Priced at HK$258 per adult and HK$188 per child, the Chocolate Afternoon Tea Buffet is sure to thrill even the most sophisticated palates.
This Easter, the chocolatiers have hidden five Golden Vouchers in five chocolate eggs and the owners of the Golden Vouchers will earn prizes ranging from 6-course set dinner at Nicholini’s to 60-minute body massage at the hotel’s newly renovated Health Club. This limited edition Easter egg is luxuriously made by Chef Billy and the Valrhona chocolatiers with Valrhona Satilia 62% and weight 480 grams with 23 centimeters in length. Priced at HK$320, the Easter chocolate eggs are available at Cake Shop and only 50 Easter eggs will be produced.
