Conrad Dublin announces newest restaurant and brasserie, The Coburg
DUBLIN, Ireland - The Coburg, which opens in early April, is part of the Conrad's €8 million renovation plan being unveiled over the coming months. Celebrate Dublin at its newest dining experience, The Coburg, at the five-star Conrad Dublin. Take a seat in the stylish surroundings of The Coburg and enjoy the simplicity of a true brasserie experience inspired by Paris and London with a locally-inspired all day menu.
The Coburg promises style and simplicity with its distinctive local charm and hospitality. Menu highlights include seafood bouillabaisse, roaring water bay rope mussels, Coburg club sandwich or lobster and prawn ravioli.
In speaking of the new menu, Dmitry Stroykov, Executive Chef at Conrad Dublin said: "The Coburg is a completely new addition to Dublin's up and coming dining scene. The ingredients we use in the kitchen are central to our menu creation and guests will recognise that many producers and suppliers are local to the area. Guests will be able to drop by for a casual brunch, a late business lunch, or an early pre-theatre supper, which offers real flexibility to diners who don't want their schedules determined by a restaurant's opening times."
A champagne table will be a focal point for the new brasserie, where diners can enjoy elevated views over the restaurant and a selection of the finest champagnes from Henriot, which is exclusive to Conrad Dublin. Dmitry Stroykov continued, "We expect high demand for the champagne table at The Coburg. Both our Irish and international guests will particularly enjoy our Galway Bay oysters paired with our house champagne."
The Coburg draws much of its aesthetic from the grand Irish tradition of equine sports and pairs it with the contemporary elegance of Conrad Hotels & Resorts. The interior designer has recreated a feeling of restrained elegance, using the best quality materials - leather, marble, porcelain, and brass - to pay homage to The Coburg Gardens. From 1817-1865, the gardens served as event headquarters for the legendary and renowned Royal Horse Bazaar. Irish Fashion Designer Deborah Veale also created a chic uniform for The Coburg staff. Speaking of the commission, Deborah said: "The uniform for The Coburg was inspired by the sleek contemporary lines, luxury quality fabrics, and superb spacial concepts developed by architectural blueprints. This gave us a very clear design direction, allowing us to blend an international flavour with indigenous Irish handwriting. We developed a function, contemporary, and unique uniform for our staff."
Martin Mangan, General Manager of Conrad Dublin explains. "The Iveagh Gardens, located across from the hotel, were once known as the Coburg Gardens, named after the royal family of Saxe-Coburg. During the 1800's, Coburg, which was a public park, housed a magnificent gas-lit winter garden and stunning iron structure, inspired by London's Crystal Palace. Adopting the Coburg name is very much in line with our theme for the new-look Conrad Dublin, which features a distinctly local aesthetic."
The Coburg is open daily from 12pm to 11pm, housed on the ground floor of Conrad Dublin, located in the heart of Dublin City on Earlsfort Terrace. For bookings, telephone 01 602 8900, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.thecoburgdublin.com.
