ALGARVE, Portugal - With holiday prices having fallen dramatically over the last 12 months in Portugal, there is no better time to plan a trip to Conrad Algarve. Hollywood Mixology Masterclasses
In the food and beverage news, Nelson Matos - Gusto's Head Bartender - has created a new Hollywood-themed cocktail masterclasses, with a menu to tie in with classic cinematography. Cocktails from the new menu include 'What Happens in Vegas' inspired by the film Indecent Proposal with hints of Grand Marnier, Champagne, Agave and 'The Mastermind' inspired by 007-Goldeneye with notes of Cherry, Lemon and Beluga Vokda.
Learn how to mix drinks with Nelson Matos in unique 'hands-on' masterclasses - two hour sessions include welcome drinks, the history of cocktail making, full demonstrations, food bites and at least two cocktails per guest. Pick spirits of your choice for the cocktail base and then name your new signature cocktail.
Prices for The Hollywood Mixology Masterclasses start from €80.00/£61.36 per person, for 2 hours of this activity.
'Maria's First Fishing Experience'
Home to a sweeping coastal lagoon dotted with pine trees, marshes and expansive salt pans Conrad Algarve encourages its guests to explore the great outdoors. Exquisite Portuguese fauna and flora can be enjoyed throughout the Ria Formosa Natural Park, through a range of family-friendly activities introduced by Conrad Algarve. New for 2016, is the unique family fishing trip called 'Maria's First Fishing Experience'. A memorable day out for all the family, guests will take to the calm waters of the lagoon on a traditional fishing boat, allowing for amazing views of the National Park, Ria Formosa.

Swimming with Portuguese Waterdogs
Other outdoor activities include swimming with Portuguese waterdogs, Portugal's favourite canine. Originally companions to fisherman, they are now mainly household dogs, however a park in Faro is being created to let guests learn more about this special breed. Until this is open, breeder Carla Peralta arranges a day for the guests to spend time with the dogs and even swim with them.
