The 135-room Canopy by Hilton brings contemporary feel to Portland, Maine’s Old Port historic district
PORTLAND, Maine and MCLEAN, Va. - Fathom Companies and Hilton’s (NYSE:HLT) lifestyle brand Canopy by Hilton today announced opening plans for Canopy by Hilton Portland Waterfront, slated for spring 2021. Located on the corner of Center and Commercial Streets in Portland, Maine’s Old Port neighborhood, the 135-room hotel will be situated on one of the last remaining buildable lots. The property will also be home to an indoor/outdoor rooftop bar and restaurant overlooking Casco Bay, a first for the New England coastal city.

Fathom Companies will develop and manage the property. The development firm is in the approval process with the city, Historic Preservation Board and Planning Board and anticipates approvals in second quarter 2019 with a fall construction groundbreaking and spring 2021 opening.

Canopy by Hilton Portland Waterfront offers 135 Just-Right rooms, all of which are designed for ease and comfort. The design process utilized a strong contingent of local consultants and professionals, including interior design firm Ealain Studios that designed the space with local touchpoints. Amenities will include mobile check-in and complimentary Wi-Fi, and on arrival, guests will receive a welcome gift inspired by the Old Port neighborhood.

In addition to the first-of-its-kind indoor/outdoor rooftop bar in Portland, the hotel will offer a street-level restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests will also be invited to evening tastings during their stays, featuring light bites and local craft beers, wines and spirits.
