Canopy by Hilton Announces EoA Group as Design Partner of Washington, D.C., Embassy Row Property
Locally inspired lifestyle hotel draws design inspiration from historic neighborhood and features outdoor café garden
WASHINGTON and MCLEAN, Va. - Canopy by Hilton, Hilton’s (NYSE: HLT) lifestyle hotel brand and The Bernstein Companies today announced EoA Group as the design partner for the brand’s third Washington, D.C., area property, Canopy by Hilton Washington DC Embassy Row, which is slated to open September 2019. Located six blocks from the White House, the property will feature contemporary design that is inspired by the nation’s capital’s iconic architecture and history, as well as the Embassy Row area’s vibrant and diverse culture.

Locally Inspired Design
Inspired by Embassy Row’s rich history of inclusion, the property’s design centers around open, public spaces and classic architecture.
Canopy Washington DC Embassy Row’s materials include raw concrete finishes and natural woods, and the color palette features the brand’s signature orange as well as denim blues, all of which are used throughout the property to evoke a laid-back, comfortably approachable flair.
EoA Group has helped the property curate a whimsical collection of art that features exaggerated proportions and lively pops of color. Guests will begin enjoying the works upon arrival with a signature entrance piece, a face composition made up of smaller faces from many backgrounds and ages, that highlights the city’s diverse and inclusive culture and engages guests with an emotionally fulfilling dialogue.

To that end, our inspiration in this space was to show the unity and commonality in the human spirit despite superficial differences, to bring the focus back to narrative, to the human element – and to the intimate relationship people ultimately have with their environment.”
Canopy Washington DC Embassy Row will offer 154 Just-Right rooms, including nine Canopy suites, which are all inspired by historical figures and iconic buildings in D.C. Detailed in wooden canopy with a classic detail, the signature canopy beds feature a neutral palette with pops of rusty orange to reflect the brand feel. Guests are invited to relax on custom mattresses, each outfitted with a ZoneActive™ 5-Zone Foam Topper and Serta Cool Balance® Technology, to ensure the right amount of support and temperature control.
Eat, Drink, Smile
Situated in the heart of the property, Canopy Central – the brand’s unique lobby concept that includes food and drink, reception, retail and an area of retreat – will seamlessly transition from a casual daytime experience into a more elevated, social gathering by night. Canopy Central will provide a desirable space for guests and locals to gather at any time of the day and will offer nightly complimentary tastings of local wine and beer for guests. Canopy Washington DC Embassy Row will also have an outdoor café garden.

For guests arriving early or leaving late, Canopy Washington DC Embassy Row will offer a transfer lounge with luggage lockers and private changing cabins. Guests will be able to store their belongings and freshen up in this space before they are able to check in and after they have checked out.
