Hilton’s 2014 Launch of Canopy by Hilton Redefined the Lifestyle Category

Just a few months after introducing Curio Collection by Hilton in 2014, Hilton welcomed a second unique new brand, Canopy by Hilton. The brand embraces its locale and redefined the lifestyle category with a focus on today’s leisure and business traveler. Each property is designed as a natural extension of its neighborhood with connection to local art, food, drink and culture. Canopy by Hilton Reykjavik City Centre, which opened as the brand’s first hotel, is located in the Icelandic capital and showcases artistic flair, a thriving culinary scene and a backdrop of dramatic volcanic landscapes. The area is home to Iceland’s famous Omnom chocolate and naturally filtered Icelandic lava water. During check-in at Canopy properties, guests are greeted with an open, welcoming space at Canopy Central and a locally sourced welcome gift. As the brand continues to grow, Hilton recently announced that Canopy will debut in Africa in 2021.
