Hilton Caters to Local Discovery with 2014 Launch of Curio Collection by Hilton

This Week in Hilton History

Hilton introduced major additions to its portfolio of market-leading brands in 2014, with the launch of two unique concepts. At the NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference in June 2014, the company launched the first of its two brands welcomed that year, Curio Collection by Hilton, created for travelers seeking local discovery and authentic experiences while benefitting from the award-winning Hilton Honors program. From urban landmark properties to grand beach resorts, the brand’s hotels are hand-picked and one-of-a-kind, with individuality as the only unifying factor. The curated collection began just two months later with the opening of The Highland Dallas, Curio Collection by Hilton, a hotel that had originally opened in the 1960s as the nine-story “Hilton Inn.” It returned to the Hilton portfolio but, in keeping with the spirit of the collection, retained the unique identity it had developed over the decades prior. Within Curio Collection by Hilton’s first 12 months, the upper upscale collection boasted 11,000 rooms open or in various stages of development. Curio Collection by Hilton now represents a portfolio of more than 70 hotels and resorts spanning more than 20 countries.
