Hilton and the New York Stock Exchange

This Week in Hilton History

In 1946, the then-named Hilton Hotels Corporation filed to list on the New York Stock Exchange and would soon begin trading under the ticker symbol HLT. In 2007, Hilton left NYSE after being taken private, and it was more than five years before the company relisted. In 2013, Hilton returned to the New York Stock Exchange, under the same HLT ticker, with executives and traders marking the occasion by donning a commemorative version of a favorite hotel staple – bathrobes. The record initial public offering, the second in the company’s history, raised approximately $2.35 billion. In honor of Hilton’s 100th anniversary in 2019, Hilton returned to the iconic location where Team Members and Executives celebrated its centennial by ringing the opening bell.
