Hilton Copacabana Rio de Janeiro Debuts Isabel Lounge

The new roof lounge bar celebrates Brazil‑inspired flavors

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - With a cosmopolitan atmosphere, typical of big cities, but without losing Rio’s charm and bohemian style, Isabel Lounge at Hilton Rio de Janeiro Copacabana opens its doors to be a portrait of the Rio de Janeiro that everyone loves: beautiful, authentic and welcoming.

Located on the 39th floor of the iconic building on Avenida Atlântica, the lounge brings back the history and classic events held at the property. “The idea is to turn Isabel Lounge into a landmark in Rio de Janeiro, both for locals and tourists,” says Laura Castagnini, general manager, Hilton Rio de Janeiro Copacabana. “Our desire is to deliver to a truly Rio and Brazilian experience to customers with locally inspired drinks, delicious seasonal Brazilian fresh food and an unmatched view in a unique, high-energy environment.”

The Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer and Copacabana beach, main postcards of the city, are even more highlighted when seen from the Isabel Lounge, turning the rooftop bar into a true hidden beauty, with ample outdoor space that provides a wide view of the horizon and the top sites. Access is available through Hilton Rio de Janeiro Copacabana and is open to non-guests by reservation only, subject to availability.

In addition to the panoramic view and breathtaking sunsets, Isabel Lounge brings all the originality of Brazilian flavors to its menu signed by Chef Pablo Ferreyra and in the cocktail menu created by mixologist Alex Mesquita.

Brazilian-inspired menu

When creating the menu, Chef Pablo Ferreyra wanted the focus to be on celebrating Brazilian vibrant cuisine and culture. The concepts, Plant Based, Sea & Earth and To Share, inspired the creations. The first, Plant Based, respects the integrity of fresh ingredients that come from the local suppliers and are minimally manipulated to conserve all their nutrients. “Sea & Earth was inspired by the coast and mountains of Rio de Janeiro, using local fish and noble meats,” explains Chef Pablo Ferreyra.

The To Share dishes feature fresh mushroom croquettes with red fruit vinaigrette (R$ 53), the cod fish shepherd’s pie made with Mashed baroa potato, catupiry cheese & grana padano (R$ 54) and, for dessert, the caipirinha brownie with cupuaçu syrup (R$ 36).

The cocktail menu, signed by Alex Mesquita, promises to be the flagship of the bar. Mesquita was inspired by Brazil’s six biomes (Cerrado, Amazon, Caatinga, Atlantic Forest, Pantanal and Pampa), with untapped flavors and elevated from traditional mixology. Sixteen signature drinks will surprise not only the taste but also the sight and smell, like the Amazon Delight with Gin, citrus, coffee liquor, cocoa and dark Chocolate (R$ 42) and Isabel, which takes Premium cachaça, chestnut milk, orange water & edible flower (R$ 36).

Boho Chic concept in decoration

The new space at the top of the building was designed by the Anastassiadis Arquitetos office, which proposed a cozy and sophisticated design, investing in the creation of a wooden deck in the dining and living areas since the wood provides a welcome feeling.

Separate lounges with sofas, armchairs, coffee tables and overlapping rugs were created to serve as a friendly spot for good conversation, in harmony with the relaxed atmosphere typical of Rio. The wood, nautical ropes and fresh fabrics in the furniture reveal the boho-chic inspiration, reinforced by the earthy tone palette, including garnet, mustard, off-white and green. This last tone is present not only in the furniture, but also in the lush vegetation that comes from the wooden balcony on the highest floor area and in the large vases that surround the terrace.
