Hilton Worldwide’s Rob Webb Named to Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2012

Award recognizes Hilton’s exemplary IT team and strategic leadership

MCLEAN, Va. - IDG's Computerworld magazine has named Rob Webb, Chief Information Officer for Hilton Worldwide, to its "Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2012." The award is given to top leaders in IT that demonstrate leadership in the following areas:

  • Exceptional technology in their organizations
  • Fostering ideas and creative work environments
  • Envisioning innovative approaches to business problems
  • Effectively managing IT strategies

In his role at Hilton Worldwide, Webb and his team are responsible for spearheading the Hilton Innovation Collaborative.  The Collaborative is a series of multi-year agreements with five leading technology companies - IBM, AT&T, Accenture, Tata Consultancy Services and Microsoft - to provide Hilton with technology infrastructure, high speed network services, reservation systems, property systems, corporate systems and transactional website development and support services covering more than 3,700 hotels worldwide. 

Webb joined Hilton in 2009 and provides leadership for systems strategy, enterprise planning and architecture, information security, technology infrastructure, systems development and outsourcing initiatives.  Prior to joining Hilton Worldwide, Webb has held global CIO roles for Equifax, and General Electric including CIO of GE Commercial Finance, GE Global Consumer Finance and GE Energy Services. He has extensive international experience and has lived and worked in Europe, Greater China and Japan as a management and technology consultant.

Webb holds a BA degree from the University of Western Ontario and received his MBA from the European School of Management in Paris.
