Hilton Worldwide Named One of the ‘Best Companies for Hispanics’ by Hispanic Business Magazine
McLean, Va. - Hilton Worldwide announced today that it was named to the HispanicBusiness 2011 Diversity Best Companies list by Hispanic Business Magazine, an annual list determined by more than 32 variables that measure a company's commitment to Hispanic hiring, promotion, marketing, philanthropy and supplier diversity.
HispanicBusiness Media noted that Hilton Worldwide made the list because it exemplified the inclusion of diversity measures in the workplace by meeting or exceeding the following criteria: board leadership, recruitment, retention and promotion, marketing and community outreach and supplier diversity.
"We're thrilled to be listed among such great companies," said Michael C. Ford, vice president, global diversity and inclusion, Hilton Worldwide. "As we continue our global expansion, it is our goal to help support and sustain the diverse communities in which we do business."
Additionally, HispanicBusiness Media noted that companies on this year's list went well beyond workforce diversity initiatives and implemented strategies to reach more Hispanic consumers and increase their procurements with minority- and Hispanic-owned companies.
One of Hilton Worldwide's diversity programs that was highlighted was its award-winning supplier diversity program, which provides partnership opportunities for minority- and woman-owned businesses, ongoing support in purchasing decisions and continuing education with top-tier management schools like Pepperdine University, University of Southern California and Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management. This year, the program was named to the "Top 50 Corporations for Supplier Diversity" list by the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Global diversity and inclusion is a strategic priority for Hilton Worldwide. With more than 600,000 team members across 3,750 managed and franchised hotels in 85 countries, Hilton Worldwide continues to focus and celebrate its diverse culture, talent, workplace, and marketplace initiatives, building on its legacy of global inclusiveness.
