Hilton Shenzhen Shekou Nanhai Appoints Tanner Liu As Executive Chef

SHENZHEN, China - Hilton Shenzhen Shekou Nanhai announces the appointment of Tanner Liu as executive chef. Ms. Liu will report to Neige Yuan, director of operations, Hilton Shenzhen Shekou Nanhai, and will be responsible for the quality management and leadership of the culinary operation in the hotel.

John Burger, general manager, Hilton Shenzhen Shekou Nanhai, said, "Tanner brings extensive culinary experience to her position. She joined Hilton Worldwide in 1987 and worked with culinary teams from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. We are excited to have her to join our executive team and wish her much success in the new role."

Commenting on her new challenge, Tanner Liu said, "I am very happy to return to the Hilton family, and I believe that I will be able to pass on my 27 years of experience in culinary to the young chefs for them to inherit and develop."

About Tanner Liu 
Tanner Liu first joined Hilton Worldwide in 1987 as cook three in Hilton Shanghai. Before joining Hilton Shenzhen Shekou Nanhai, Ms. Liu worked as executive sous chef at Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou, responsible for food quality and cost control, assisting the executive chef in all culinary operation for two restaurants, one bar and the banquet facilities. Prior to her position at Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou, she also worked as executive sous chef in Hilton Shanghai, responsible for six restaurants, two bars and the banquet facilities. During her position at Hilton Shanghai, she assisted the chefs for opening preparations in DoubleTree by Hilton Kunshan and DoubleTree by Hilton Wuxilingshan.

In 2002, Ms. Liu led a Chinese team of four chefs to Austria to participate the International Culinary Competition in Innsbruck and won a silver medal in the competition.
