Elvira Cruz

December 14, 2017

Elvira has been a key part of the Hilton West Palm Beach Food & Beverage Team since the hotel pre-opening stages. She was "discovered" by General Manager, John Parkinson, in a local restaurant where she waited on John one Saturday morning. During the short breakfast service Elvira was able to engage, anticipate and exceed John's expectations and he encouraged her to apply for a position with West Palm Beach's newest hotel.

Since then, Elvira continues to exceed her Team's expectations and find new ways to improve her Guests' experiences. She lives our Purpose by bringing genuine Hilton hospitality to Guests, Team Members and Communities alike.

Guests frequently mention Elvira in TripAdvisor and SALT reviews as someone who genuinely cares for their needs. In one instance, Elvira noticed a family with an elderly, wheelchair-bound man at the hotel's Manor restaurant. Although breakfast service was already over and the team was beginning to close the restaurant, Elvira encouraged the family to stay and worked with her colleagues in the Culinary department to prepare a cook-to-order breakfast for the whole family. The Guests were truly appreciative, saying, "Elvira has made us loyal to Hilton."

As a lead server, Elvira understands the importance of Team Member engagement and recognition. During Team Member Appreciation Week, she worked with the leadership Team to customize over 50 t-shirts, each showcasing the unique talents and attributes of the Team Member who received the shirt. In an effort to support her colleagues, Elvira also volunteers to work extra shifts and assists other areas of operation including banquets, pool brunch and special events, as well as hurricane preparation.

Committed to making a positive impact in West Palm Beach, Elvira supports the Community Champion on the hotel's Blue Energy Committee and is personally involved with numerous local organizations like Place of Hope, American Cancer Society and Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. Most recently, Elvira traveled from West Palm Beach to Orlando to volunteer her time and package food benefiting Puerto Rico recovery efforts.

Thank you, Elvira for everything you do to help make Hilton the most hospitable company in the world.
