"I was a junior student, and got the opportunity to start an internship in Human Resources in 2014. It opened a number of doors: leading the Interns Union, from no experience to be a teacher in 'Walk in Shekou' Program to share the experience to inspire the young students to join in hospitality industry, and winning the Annual Outstanding TMs Award in 2015. I’m now HR Supervisor and also the Blue Energy Committee’s TM Relationship Champion, where I apply my talents to help other TMs enjoy the hotel’s life and have a great work environment with our fantastic team."Anne LianHR Supervisor, Hilton Shenzhen Shekou Nanhai

Room to Read Sri Lanka

Partner: Room to Read
"We believe that if we want our girls to be leaders in the future, we have to prepare them now and do so communally. Our partnership with Hilton Worldwide through the first-of-its-kind Job Shadowing Program is not only reciprocating transformative experiences, but also sustaining solutions by working with and through the community. Such a collaboration is not only creating pathways to opportunities for girls of our Room to Read’s Girls’ Education Program in India and Sri Lanka, which focuses on helping girls complete secondary school with necessary life skills to make informed decisions in the future, but also instilling a determination with purpose in young girls and opening doors their parents never knew existed - like in the case of Raveena, one of our program participants. Because of the Job Shadowing Program, Raveena realized her passion for cooking and hopes to be a Chef for Hilton one day!"Umeshi RajeendraCommunications Officer- Room to Read Sri Lanka

Partner: Leeds Beckett University
"I found the workshop with Hilton really helpful and insightful as it allowed me to gain a better understanding of the challenges large companies face when defining and implementing sustainable sourcing policies. It was great to hear different perspectives from within the business - especially the concerns raised by the purchasing manager. Overall, it was great practical addition to the university course, and I am really pleased the exercise was also helpful to Hilton."Rebecca WallerResponsible Tourism Manager, Tatu Adventures, Tanzania
