Hilton Recognizes Veterans With the Ultimate New England Patriots Experience
Hilton has teamed with New England Patriots Foundation, surprising veterans Craig Hayes and Dan Valentin with a VIP Patriots football game experience, in recognition of their dedication and service.
Hayes, a United States Army veteran from Beverly, Massachusetts, and Valentin, a United States Marine Corps veteran and Hilton Team Member, were invited to participate in Sunday’s National Anthem pre-game ceremony, in addition to receiving two tickets to the game at Gillette Stadium, two VIP tailgate passes, complete with appearances from player alumni, and a Hilton Challenge Medal.
Valentin’s excitement about the VIP game experience, his first regular-season Patriots game, was matched by his gratitude. “I’m humbled; this makes me feel really good about what I do and about myself. There are other people who are so deserving. I’m really appreciative.”
Nominated for the recognition by his fellow Team Members at Hilton Boston Logan Airport, Valentin, a security supervisor at the hotel, could hardly believe it when his team approached him in the hotel lobby last week, surprising him with the news of the special experience.
Valentin’s colleagues credit him with having a positive impact on the team and the hotel, bringing both creativity and precision to all aspects of his work.
“His passion for doing his job to the best of his ability and being proud of what and who he represents, as a family man and friend, are characteristics that are truly admirable,” wrote Valentin’s supervisor, LeTeesha Thomas.
The recognition arrived just ahead of Valentin’s one-year anniversary working at the hotel, during which time he said he and his team have written letters to veterans and members of the military who are currently serving. “I’m proud of where I work because Hilton does take the time to recognize those who are serving and who have served.”
Hilton has a long legacy of supporting military, veterans and their families and in 2013, launched Operation Opportunity with a commitment to hire 10,000 Veterans and Military Spouses by 2018. After accomplishing this goal two years ahead of schedule, Hilton has made a commitment to hire an additional 20,000 military hires by the end of 2020.
